Event Organization - Chair Dana Marucci (10)

Assist in the planning and running of various fundraising events being held throughout the year. (Serve only)

Back to School Staff Luncheon (4)

Back to School Staff Luncheon: Plan menu and order catering for luncheon. Purchase Paper goods & drinks. Volunteers are asked to set-up, serve, and clean-up. Must be available Week of August 24th.

Bulletin Boards (2)

Decorate bulletin board in front hallway and small bulletin board in APR. Boards must be decorated at least twice a year.

Green Thumb (10)

Help beautify school grounds. This is ongoing throughout the year. Involves seasonal planting, watering & maintenance of several flower beds & pots.

Book Fair (15)

Select book supplier, organize the event in the gym, arrange for parent volunteers to set up and work during the three days. Takes place during the week of Back to School Night. Chair position already filled, need volunteers to serve.

Assist chair in selecting and booking assemblies and programs

After School Club Coordinator

Act as After School Club Chair, working with outside organizations and principal to coordinate PTO-sponsored after-school activities. Moderate Ongoing Commitment

Website maintenance (2)

Work with the Executive board to update the PTO Website with events & details as needed. Must have familiarity with WordPress editor.

Girls on the Run (3)

This is a district-sponsored program that requires two days after-school (one hour each day) for the 8 week program. At the end of the program, the girls participate in a 5K in Somerville. Some level of fitness required.

Trunk or Treat (10)

Coordinate vendors, donations, volunteers, bake sale for this event in late October.

Bingo Nights (10)

Volunteers needed to plan at least 2 Bingo Nights during the course of the school year. This includes creating & distributing flyer, organizing materials and prizes in advance, plus setup, ticket/snack sales, cleanup the night of each event.

Fifth Grade Committee- Serve Only (10)

Work with already designated Woodland committee chairs and representatives from the other elementary schools to organize end of year activity.

Fifth Grade Yearbook (4)

Create the fifth grade yearbook.

Fifth Grade Event- Chairs Lauren Wishnia and Kim Kardos

Week 1- Simply Gourmet; Week 2- Bagels and Smoothies. Positions may occur weekly or bimonthly

Moms Night Out (10)

Select venue and organize event. Held in the Fall.

Teacher Appreciation Week

Organize various activities for this week, including teacher gifts and other expressions of appreciation. Held during Teacher Appreciation Week in May.

Teacher Appreciation Breakfast (6)

Plan and coordinate menu for breakfast. Volunteers are asked to set-up, serve, and clean-up. Held during Teacher Appreciation week in May.

Teacher Appreciation Luncheon (6)

Science Day (20)

Chair needed to plan the day's agenda. Also need many volunteers to help throughout the day.

International Day (20)

Chair needed to plan the day's agenda. Also need many volunteers to help throughout the day.

Earth Day (10)

Volunteers to help with planning and throughout the day.

Field Day (2)

Work with the gym teacher to plan this student event in June.

Photography (10)

Take pictures at a variety of school events/activities and catalog the photos.

Woodland Spiritwear (10)

Work with committee chair to select, order and distribute or sell School spirit garments & merchandise, help with sale items at school events. Maintain organized inventory of items.

Box Tops (4)

Advertise the program to all school families and the community. Arrange the collection of box tops Bi-Monthly. Pkg and mail in for redemption. Most work can be done from home.

Lost and Found (2)

Help reunite lost items with their owners. Check items for name tags, Photograph and publish Lost and Found Items on PTO website and Facebook page - weekly or bi-weekly as needed.
