Wednesday Night Dinner Volunteers - Jan- April 2021
Every Wednesday, during the school year, Cardinal Catholic hosts "Newman Night." It is an opportunity for our students to come together for a meal, fellowship, speakers/activities, and grow in their Faith through prayer and the Sacraments.
General Weekly Newman Night Schedule for Spring 2020:
- Mass - 5:30 pm
- Dinner Served - 6:15 pm
- Speaker/Activity - 7:15 pm
It takes a team to feed a village, and with 50-75 hungry college students attending our dinners every week, we could use all the help we can get! We need groups of volunteers to provide and serve food. These groups can be parish ministry groups, Bible studies, groups from the community, multiple families working together, student groups, etc. Throughout Fall semester we had 50+ college students attending each week. The safety of our volunteers is of utmost importance, and prepping food before hand can be done with minnimal student contact.
There have been a variety of dinners provided - casseroles, soups, burgers, hotdogs, roast, pasta, grilled cheese, and so much more. Groups can be creative with what they want to provide. Please try to include gluten-free and vegetarian options. Groups may also opt to pay for a catered meal.
All plates, cups, plasticware, napkins, etc will be provided by St. Francis. Drinks (water and lemonade) will also be provided by St. Francis. You may use the kitchen facilities and space at St. Francis Church to prepare food. Reimbursement for food purchased is available if needed.
Dinner will be served at 6:15 pm each Wednesday after Mass.
Weekly Dinners will be served in a variety of locations throughout the year but an empahasis will be placed on keeping things outside. Volunteer groups will be notified where dinner will need to be served ech week.
See available volunteer dates below to sign up!
If you have any further questions or concerns, please reach out to Joe Domina in Campus Ministry [email protected] or call the parish office.
