Dallas Facebook Friends! Some of us have a lot to be thankful for even during these difficult times. Giving to others can help lift our spirits and make us feel full. Our family is volunteering to give back to those in need and if you feel called to be a part of it too, we’d love your help!
We are helping the soupmobile provide items for sack lunches for the homeless and hungry. This is a great way to give back and get the kiddos involved! Making sandwiches is easy and inexpensive!
Here are the details:
// Individual portions of snacks like chips and/or individual portions of healthful cookies and desserts
// Fruits like oranges, bananas, apples
// Water Bottles
// Peanut butter/almond butter sandwiches (with or without jelly, jam ,honey)
Pantry items, (please no meat), and some examples/suggestions are as follows:
Nondairy milk in boxes, dry and canned beans and soups/soup mixes, condiments, jelly, whole grains like brown rice, quinoa, millet, oats – please no white rice since many people have diabetes and sugar issues, protein powder, sauces, anything non-perishable that you yourself would eat, salsa, canned tomatoes, pizza crusts, nuts, seeds, packaged meals that don’t have to be refrigerated, nuts, taco shells, jelly/jam, etc., spices, healthful cooking oil, bars, pickles, condiments, cereals, etc.
Items will be picked up from my home every Monday and delivered to SoupMobile by 11:00am. You can do a contactless drop off on Sundays or Monday by 8:00am. Please use this signup form to volunteer - there is no limit to number of volunteers each week.
