Kiwanis Park Renovation
We have paused our fundraising and volunteer recruitment efforts for now. We will reach out to organize volunteer closer to the project completion date. We may also reach out again to see if there is interest in donations going toward the dog run as it was one of the items in the plan that did not get enough funding. Most of the project has been funded by the City of Raleigh and a huge $318,000 donation from the Raleigh Kiwanis Club. Funded items include the new staffed community center, new indoor/outdoor bathrooms, new picnic shelter, new playground and new basketball courts. Construction will start in October 2018 and be complete in approximately 10+ months from start date.

***DEADLINE FAST APPROACHING - OCTOBER 1, 2017***
Want to make sure the exciting new plans for Kiwanis Park are fully implemented? Then we need your donation of TIME (or money) to make it all possible!
Through a collaboration among the City of Raleigh, the Raleigh Kiwanis Foundation and the Five Points neighborhood, the city has already raised $1 million to implement initial plans, including new restroom facilities, picnic shelter and signage; increased programming; and full-time recreation staff.
An additional $200,000+ (in cash or volunteer hours) is needed to provide a new playground, dog run, basketball court and pickle ball court. Special thanks to the Raleigh Kiwanis Foundation for offering to MATCH YOUR DONATIONS (up to $200,000) to help fund this exciting project! Here are two ways you can help...
1. GIVE TIME (Scroll down to bottom for sign up sheet)
Volunteer opportunities for ages 12+ are available for the spring/summer of 2018 during the final phase of the park project -- jobs for all abilities include planting, spreading mulch and unloading supplies. By pledging TODAY to volunteer next spring/summer, you can directly benefit the project budget at a rate of $23.56/hour. Sign up sheet below.
Pledge 11 volunteer hours = $250 of project funding!
Pledge 21 volunteer hours = $500 of project funding!
Pledge 43 volunteer hours = $1,000 of project funding!
Pledge 85 volunteer hours = $2,000 of project funding!
2. GIVE MONEY
Don't have time to volunteer? You can also donate money! Tax-deductible monetary donations are being collected online here: https://www.youcaring.com/raleighkiwanisfoundation-826090
Donate at least $500 (cash) and get YOUR NAME on a special donor recognition plaque to be installed at Kiwanis Park! Your gift can be designated to support any or all of these facilities and your help is critical to the success of this project! Please specify which project you would like your gift to fund, by making a note in the comments section:
- Basketball Court
- Dog Run
- Pickleball Court
Volunteer date TBD - Approx Summer 2019
