Hello, friends! Are you longing to be a part of a group of like-minded and like-hearted individuals? Do you see yourself engaged in conversation with people on the same journey? Do you want to hang out with folks with whom you just "do life" with? Are you interested in gathering in groups of no less than 8, but no more than 15?
If the answer is "yes," then we have some great news! In order to foster connections and relationships, we are beginning Maples Life Groups! Signing up is easy! Just click on the link below and sign up for a "Room." If you want to gather a group of friends to join a room together, just sign up in the same room. It's completely up to you!
These Life Groups are based on the Wesleyan class meetings, which were groups of around 8-15 people that met weekly in order to check in with one another about the state of their souls. Some people who participated in class meetings were Christians and others were seeking an encounter with God, but had not yet had one. The goal of the classes was essentially the same as that of early Methodism itself, to be transformed by the grace of God, to become an “altogether Christian.”
You should be aware that clergy will not be leading this group after the initial meeting. At the first virtual meeting, we will give you some direction and information on how to proceed with your group. However, it is our prayer that this group will grow organically from the ground up and we want to give you the tools to make your group successful.
Remember, these Life Groups can be based on common interests (raising kids, finances, etc), Bible study, book clubs, and so much more. But the main question your group should focus on whenever you are gathered is this: "How is it with your soul?" The point is to build deeper relationships with people within a small circle.
Won't you consider joining a Life Group?
