COVID-19 UPDATE- Please Read Thoroughly
Thank you for signing up to serve at the Volunteers of America Mission! We will continue to offer meal service during this time and appreciate any volunteer who is able to join us. If you have served with us previously, you will see that things are a bit different. The style in which we serve has changed to better protect our clients, staff, and volunteers. We are serving more meals outside and in a "grab-and-go" fashion.
Mayor Hancock issued a "Stay at Home" order beginning on March 24th and lasting until April 10th. Volunteers of America is exempt from this order and volunteer work has been deemed essential. Please find a Travel Authorization Form linked below to keep for your records. This letter certifies your volunteer work and allows you to travel to the VOA Mission for your shift. If you have any issues accessing the document, please email Megan Harding at [email protected].
In addition, we are taking the necessary precautions to ensure a clean and healthy environment. The VOA Mission has several handwashing stations and gloves are readily available. If you are ill, with anything, please cancel your volunteer shift with us.
Please note, at this time we are limiting the number of volunteers in a shift to the number of available slots on the sign-up and are unable to open up additional space.
We understand that volunteers need to take proactive measures to ensure their own personal health as well as the health of those around us. If you need to cancel your volunteer shift, please either delete your sign up or email Megan Harding at [email protected].
Sign up for one or more slots (please select the total number of volunteers). If it is your first time volunteering, please read the first time volunteer information below.
A meal shift includes preparation, service, clean up and set up for the next shift.
