COVID-19 Safety Updates
With social distancing and work restrictions still in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have been considering how best to move forward while keeping everyone involved safe.
Our very own Hannah Traggis has written an extensive set of guidelines for community gardens that has been featured in the New York Times and is being implemented by community gardens across the nation.
Hannah will be leading volunteer training on safe work environments and safe habits at our gardening sites. We are pleased to be able to continue to do the important work of growing fresh and nutrient dense produce for food pantries during these challenging times.
The quick and Dirty COVID-19 guidelines to know ahead of time are:
All volunteers must bring their own tools (including long-handled tools such as shovels and pitchforks and rakes) Please do not plan to share tools with anyone Bring and wear a mask, and a spare Bring hand sanitizer Bring your own lunch, drinks, and snacks as we won’t be able to share food and snacks for the time being
