Franklin Urban Greening Grant Maintenance
When parents at our school wrote and received the Urban Greening Grant that removed tons of asphalt and turned our campus into an oasis of native CA plants in 2016, our BFEF parent foundation also agreed to maintain the campus for a period of 20 years. This is why have the BFEF GREEN TEAM! Thank you Green Team Members, old and new for your stewardship of our beautiful Franklin campus!
OUR ONGOING DUTIES: We meet about every three weeks on Friday mornings to weed/pick up litter and do other garden tasks. Whenever you see a vine that needs weaving on the fence, go ahead and weave! There are 4 non-irrigated trees that need manual watering every three weeks or so in hot weather. Additional jobs include annual re-mulching, fall pruning, replacement planting. Many things can be done when YOU have time. If you would like to work at a time more convenient to you - just email me, Monica, at [email protected], and let me know.
BEFORE YOU VOLUNTEER EACH YEAR: Please fill out, initial, sign and return the VOLUNTEER FORM - https://www.gusd.net/Page/12352 along with your TB TEST RESULTS.
Email each school year to Sandra Gutierrez
Thank you Green Team!
