Before booking an appointment, please review the following information:
PLACEMENT AND REGISTRATION CONSENT
To enroll in Chinese and Arabic courses, please fill the online application form. The form will be submitted directly to the advisor, who will assess and authorize your enrollment. If you have previously filled the form, please send a message to [email protected] stating your name, UCID and the course for which you need the authorization updated.
For all other courses, if you are unsure of your language level and need placement, or you seek permission to register in a course, please contact the relevant advisor directly. You will find the list of advisors at our Contacts page (psst! scroll down).
If you have received authorization to enroll in a course for a previous term and only need to update it, please send a message to [email protected] stating your name, UCID and the course in which you would like to register.
Overload requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and must be authorized by the instructor of the course, as class size impacts teaching and assessment methods. For in-person classes the classroom capacity has to be taken into account as well. In the absence of special circumstances, the instructor might consider to grant an overload request if the student hasn’t been able to enroll in the course by the “drop” date. To discuss this request you can contact the instructor directly, or send an e-mail to [email protected] stating your name, UCID and the rationale for the request.
TIME CONFLICTS AND CREDIT TRANSFERS
Schedule conflicts between courses and credit transfers are handled at the Faculty level. For the Faculty of Arts please consult the Academic Advising website, or e-mail [email protected].
ADMISSION AND REGISTRATION ISSUES
All questions related to admission to the University (e.g. open studies admission) and tuition should be directed to Admissions ([email protected] or 403-210-7625).
Please note that we are unable to modify registration (e.g. add or swap courses), or solve registration issues other than allowing students to enroll in a course with prerequisites. The Office of the Registrar website offers help on how to use your Student Centre, how to register, and other registration issues. If you need more specific help please call Enrolment Services at 403-210-7625.
