While our guests remain at our shelter sites full time, we are re-starting our Church Rotation model for Dinner Providers, Dinner Servers, and Overnight Hosts.
We are only providing Meals for 1 of our Shelter locations this month.
Dinner Provider: Provide a full meal for 10-12 people. The meal can be dropped off at the Bethlehem Lutheran Day Center Kitchen at 4:30 pm. If other arrangements need to be made (ex: different drop-off arrangements or rewarming food) please arrange with Day Center Staff by calling 360-854-0743.
Dinner Server: Dinner servers arrive at 4:30 pm at Bethlehem Lutheran Day Center Kitchen and stay until 7:00 pm. Servers relieve staff for the evening. Servers remain in the kitchen. Masks must be worn at all times. Gloves, apron, and hair up (if applicable) whenever handling food or dishes. Food will be served on plates and placed on the open kitchen counter one family at a time. 1 guest from each family will approach the counter, sanitize, and bring plates to their table. This repeats until all guest tables have food. After dinner is served, the volunteer cleans and sanitizes the kitchen. If a volunteer feels comfortable they bring in the bin of dirty dishes from the Fellowship Hall (after guests have left), wash and sanitize dishes. After all kitchen duties, volunteers may use the chairs in the kitchen to read, etc until relieved at 7 pm. More instructions are in the kitchen upon arrival.
Overnight Host: Overnight Hosts are only needed at Central United Methodist Shelter Site, Friday-Sunday.
