Door Dates: If you would like to have a in-person Face to Face visit with your loved one, we can do this with the protection of a door. The door we will be using is outside of the Therapy Room at The Welsh Home. Please follow signs for the Door Dates! You will want to use the walkway on the north side of the building
Outdoor Vist Policy:
Arriving for your outdoor date: Each visitor will be required to check in at the front desk. The check in process will include review of educational materials, performance of hand hygiene, screening for temperature and questions on exposure or symptoms.
During your visit: The outdoor visits are being scheduled for 20 minutes. This allows for proper sanitation in-between visits and the ability to transport the resident back to their room. We appreciate respecting the time frame assigned for a smoothing transition between visits. It is required that all visitors wear a mask for the duration of the visit. It is also required that the resident have a facemask on for the duration of the visit, as able. It is also required that visitors stay socially distanced during the duration of the visit, 6 feet apart. We will have a 6-foot table in place to help facilitate that distance.
The Director of Health order highlights these additional statements:
- “All visitors should be of an age of such that maturity as to facilitate social distancing as required…. And so as not to be a distraction.”
- “Encourage residents and visitors to have contact free visit.” If contact does occur, we have a procedure in place to protect the resident.
Other miscellaneous items to note: The number of visitors is limited to two at a time based on the limited space for visitation. It is recommended that these two people already be cohorting, as there isn’t enough room to provide six feet between the two visitors. No food, beverage, or smoking during the visit. No exchanging of items. All products or items need to be dropped of at the front lobby area for quarantining.
We will be providing tents to cover the areas where the resident and visitors sit. Each morning we will be evaluating the weather. If it is deemed to be unsafe to visit based on criteria that includes but not limited to: over a certain degree and/or combination of humidity/dew point or threatening thunderstorms we will cancel all or part of the booked visitation for that day and reschedule.
The Welsh Home reserves the right to limit, disallow, or cancel outdoor visitation in the event of adverse weather, blatant violation of procedure that increases risk to our residents’ risk of exposure, or staffing limitations to perform this policy safely.
