Welcome to # RenoRecreates!
We are opening streets to local walkers, runners and bicyclers at various neighborhood parks throughout Reno to allow enjoyment of the outdoors with room for social distancing. The inaugural is this Sunday at # VirginiaLake from 9-3.
COVID-19 has caused us to take a moment and think about ways to use our park spaces in new ways to enhance our community. Allowing folks more elbow room is one way to do this. Four parks are part of this first phase of the pilot program, May 31- June 21.
We greatly appreciate your generosity to help us make sure that no one is left behind during this time. In times of uncertainty, the one thing we always have enough of is kindness. Thank you for sharing yours.
We are looking for volunteers for the City's 1st Reno Recreates event, Sunday, May 31 from 8-4p.m. Event will be from 9a.m.- 3p.m.
Please note that volunteers must be mature, confident, and have enough authority to ensure the good behavior for visitors to the event and neighborhood constituents (pedestrian and vehicle). Volunteers must be over 18 years of age, fluent in English and have good communication skills.
Volunteers must also note that they are working outside. Additionally, Volunteers must wear masks and cannot report to work if they are sick.
