Operation Move-In

2019 OMI Volunteer Sign-Up (Community Partners and Students)

On August 15, 2019, upwards of 3,000 students will move into our residence halls.  After summer orientation, this is our freshmen students’ first experience on campus and as such presents a great opportunity for us to welcome them! This is also an excellent time to welcome our returning and transfer students to campus.

Housing and Residence Life is hosting “Operation Move-In” on August 15th from 8am to 5pm.  This is an opportunity for community partners, faculty, staff, and upperclassmen students (student organizations) to help students move into their residence hall room.  In addition to being helpful, this is a good opportunity for us to make a great impression, build goodwill, and start building relationships with these students.

You can volunteer below to assist students with unloading and moving their items into the residence halls.

There will be "training" sessions throughout the summer, in addition to some online modules as well. This will give you greater insight into your role as a volunteer.  Prior to each volunteer shift, you will also be briefed on your role.

The Department of Housing and Residence Life is excited to continue building strong relationships with community partners, faculty, staff, and students to benefit our on-campus students.

Community partners, please direct your questions and concerns to Jason Harville ([email protected]).

Students, if you have any questions please contact Diana Fryar ([email protected]) or Elizabeth Johnson ([email protected]).

We look forward to your participation!
