On August 15, 2019, upwards of 3,000 students will move into our residence halls. After summer orientation, this is our freshmen students’ first experience on campus and as such presents a great opportunity for us to welcome them! This is also an excellent time to welcome our returning and transfer students to campus.
Housing and Residence Life is hosting “Operation Move-In” on August 15th from 8am to 5pm. This is an opportunity for faculty, staff, and upperclassmen students (student organizations) to help students move into their residence hall room. In addition to being helpful, this is a good opportunity for us to make a great impression, build goodwill, and start building relationships with these students.
You can volunteer in increments to assist with the following tasks:
- Directing Traffic
There will be "training" sessions throughout the summer, in addition to some online modules as well. This will give you greater insight into your role as a volunteer. Prior to each volunteer shift, you will also be briefed on your role.
The Department of Housing and Residence Life is excited to continue building strong relationships with faculty, staff, and student organizations to benefit our on-campus students. If you have any questions please contact Diana Fryar ([email protected]) or Elizabeth Johnson ([email protected]).
We look forward to your participation!
