Ghent UMC updated 12-17-2018
Come experience the wonders of the Holy Night in Stockley Gardens (at Raleigh Avenue) on Sunday, December 9th, from 5:00 pm - 7:00 p.m.
We will once again have live animals from Teeny Tiny Farms, including a miniature donkey, a miniature cow, a miniature goat, a miniature sheep, and a miniature llama! Parents can bring their children as early as 5:00 p.m. to meet the animals.
Our manger scene, featuring actors playing the parts of the Holy Family, the Wise Men, and plenty of shepherds and angels, will be in place by 5:30 pm.
At 6:00 pm, Pastor Melody will lead a brief candlelight service; and afterwards, we invite you to stay and enjoy hot drinks, music and the Christmas story on our porch. The animals will be available to visit after the service until 7:00 pm. This FREE child- and family-friendly event is open to all. Please invite family, friends and neighbors to attend.
As always, this event is only possible with volunteers like you! We will need help with:
- Stable Construction on Saturday, December 1st
- Stable set up/break down in Stockley Gardens
- Refreshment set up/maintenance/clean up
- Nativity actor roles
- Stable de-Construction: date/time TBA
Please view the sign-ups for a complete listing of volunteer opportunities. There is something for everyone!
