This is our 10th year picking up unused food from the school cafeteria at Dranesville Elementary School!
Location: 1515 Powells Tavern Place, Herndon - cafeteria (white refrigerator)
Preferred pickup time options:
8:15am - 8:45am
2pm - 3:30pm
4:45pm - 5:30pm
(You are welcome to come during the school day day as well, but we just want to avoid arrival and dismissal 8:45-9:30 and 3:45-4:30)
When you volunteer, it is easiest to bring a cooler or two from home (on wheels would make it easier) along with several recyclable bags. Go to the school and push the buzzer to be admitted into the school. Report to the office and tell them that you are picking up the donations for LINK. The refrigerator is located in the cafeteria. Please record whatever is donated on a form that should be on a clipboard on top of the refrigerator. Everything will be prepackaged, possibly including non-perishables as well.
All donations should be delivered to the LINK pantry in Herndon. Please put the perishable food in the refrigerator behind doors 5 through 7 and the non-perishable food on the Incoming Table. You are welcome to shelve the non-perishable food if you'd like. Our packers will then pack your donations for families in need in the Herndon, Sterling and Ashburn communities - and our drivers will deliver the food!
