United Through Service: Honoring 9/11 - The Service Continues

The attacks of September 11, 2001 sparked millions of Americans into service.  Those nine long and difficult months of recovery after the attacks were made possible with the help of dedicated first responders, rescue/recovery workers, community partners, and volunteers from across the country.

This September, join us in continuing to honor those who gave their lives because of the 9/11 Attacks through Days of Service.

At the HEART Program's United Through Service & Emergency Preparedness Event, there will be:

  • Keynote presentation on preparing for disasters by the Harris County Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Management
  • Assembling 100 first aid kits that will be distributed to families and people with special needs
  • Arts and crafts for everyone (face painting, building birdhouse fire stations, painting wooden emergency vehicles, etc.)

Volunteers of all ages and abilities are welcome!

Date: 09/24/2022 (Sat.)

Time: 10:00am - 12:00pm CDT

Location: The HEART Program
707 Lehman Street, Houston, TX 77018
