We will be assembling a group of volunteers at Lakeshore Park on the morning of Saturday February 29 from 9am-12pm to help us with invasive species removal and management of our woodland marsh and riverfront areas. The marsh/riverfront is a very special part of the Park, but it is susceptible to invasive species that, over time, can create ecological imbalances and displace our diverse, native plant life. We will be working with ecological landscape professionals who will help us navigate the environment and create conditions that encourage recruitment and proliferation of desirable native plant communities and the wildlife they support. The scope of work for our volunteers will be anything from weed/invasive removal to trash and debris collection. What better way to spend a Saturday morning than helping us keep Lakeshore Beautiful?
