Welcome Chair: Carol Pieper at [email protected] and Lauren Brinkman at [email protected]
"I really like the idea of this booth to make folks feel welcome, meet them with a smile, and share info about the festival and parish." - Rick Fulks, 2019 Festival Chairman
We joyfully welcome ALL to our parish! Through acts of kindness we plant seeds - we invite all to join us in getting to know Jesus though our hospitable actions. We need lovers of the Lord Jesus who are vibrant, enthusiastic and engaging to act as greeters and ambassadors. They are focused on welcoming visitors, engaging with them in friendly ways and even praying with them if the opportunity arises.
Greeters: Greet and pass out festival maps as people walk up from parking lots. On the back of map will be parish highlights (activities that provide chances for folks to grow closer to Jesus). Adults and kids 10+ can do this together. If the slots look filled and your kids are joining you just name them in Comments Section.
Ambassadors Roaming the grounds doing things like provide support under food tents, chatting, clearing plates, moving chairs, etc., socialize around music audience help where needed. Adults, 8th graders and high schoolers. Also roam kids area and do things like chat with parents who are watching kids on rides, offering to take photos for them, etc. Give away little trinkets especially to kids who haven't won anything or just because. Adults with kids 10+. Let us know your kids are joining you by naming them in Comments Section.
Booth Workers: Three-sided, open and homey near church entrance, this booth will have a prayer intentions box, posters w/parish events, "thanks for coming gifts" such as rosaries, catholic books, miraculous medals, saint medals, prayer cards, children's stickers, bracelets w/crosses, located in baskets from which people can choose, raffle each night, church tours and meet the deacon sessions. We will also handle distribution of non-alcoholic drink tickets to workers. If the slots look filled and your kids are joining you just name them in Comments Section. There are no limits on the number of helpers for this booth.
Volunteers! If the occasion arises, volunteers are open to giving their personal witnesses of Jesus in their lives but their primary purpose at the festival is to witness through action more than words. All volunteers will have FAQ sheets with festival and parish details to answer questions. These volunteers know enough to know when to say: "I don't know but I can help you find the answer". Workers will direct theological questions to deacons, priests or knowledgeable lay ministers.
PLEASE NOTE: One name per slot - add only kids' names in the comments if they are joining you
Names in the Comments section will not appear on the Volunteer list for alcohol wristbands.
