Volunteer at Van Buren Center

Volunteer From Anywhere

Welcome, to Van Buren Center Virtual Volunteering Platform thank you for your interest in growing your knowledge and skills through a new initiative to increase community connections and impact.

What is virtual volunteering?

Van Buren Center’s Virtual Volunteering is a way to increase opportunities for current and new volunteers to get involved at our shelter in a meaningful way. Currently, the available videos in the series provide background on how we utilize donations at the Van Buren Center and how we provide guests with the essential items they need to be set up for success.

Who should be a virtual volunteer?

Anyone in the community who is interested in learning about our shelter and what we do. Anyone who wants to learn more about the importance of giving and how to be a part of the effort to ensure our guests have access to the basic essential items they need.

Anyone who believes through organizing and driving individual and collective resources in a meaningful way hope, dignity, and compassion can be spread and encouraged throughout our community.

Anyone interested in organizing their own donation drive for essential donation items, or wanting to get a group of friends, family, or colleagues together to collect items or also assemble them together.

How does virtual volunteering work?
