Mud Lake Volunteers
Great progress has been made at Lower Mud Lake Natural Resource Area in McFarland! Many prairie plants bloomed this summer where the brush was mowed. There are still many trees that need removing. Over the winter we will concentrate on removing these as well as any invasive shrubs that remain.
Please arrive by 8:50 am as we would like to be ready to start 9:00 am sharp. In case of cancellation due to weather, a notification will be made to participants who have signed up.
Due to COVID-19 precautions we are limiting attendance during our sawyer days. Space is limited per Dane County Order #10. COVID-19 Guidelines: Sign-up is required; wear a face mask at orientation, break, and when social distancing of 6’ between individuals cannot be maintained. If you are experiencing any cold or flu-like symptoms, do not attend.
Please review the available slots below and click on the button to sign up. Sawyers need to be chain saw certified by the county parks. No training needed to be a hauler or to spray stumps. Dress appropriate for the weather, wear sturdy shoes and bring work gloves. Please bring your own water.
