Pickerington Food Pantry Volunteers

Make sure you are selecting the correct number of people in your group.  While too many volunteers sounds like a good thing, it can lead to cramped quarters, accidents and injury.  Unfortunately, if we have too many volunteers, we will have to send some home.  Thank you for helping and understanding!

Without our volunteers we couldn't provide food to families in need.  We need several volunteers to efficiently run the food pantry.  You will help to prep for client shopping, which starts at 10:00.  This may include stocking, checking products and organizing.  During client shopping you will help clients understand what is available to them and answer questions about the "Choice" guide on each shelf.  Once we're finished with shopping, we do light clean up to get ready for the next day of shopping.  The Client Hours Supervisor for the day will help to orient you if it's your first time. 

Many days we'e done by noon.  On exceptionally busy days we might be there until 12:30. 

If it's possible, please park behind the pantry or in the lot across the street. 

Closed toe shoes are required.   

While we welcome families, please know that there is limited space and each volunteer will be assigned to a different role and kids might be assigned to a job all by themselves.  8th grade and above are usually able to handle interacting with adults they've just met.  If your younger child isn't comfortable interacting with adults independently yet, this might not be the best volunteer opportunity for him/her.  Please keep checking sign up genius for opportunities with younger children.
