2022 PREFEST Volunteer Opportunities

Dear Misericordia Families and Friends,

The annual Family Fest will be here before you know it and we could really use some helping hands in the days leading up to this wonderful event.  If you are able to help with any of these events, please sign up directly on this page.  To do so, simply check the "Sign Up" box next to the event(s) you can help with and then be sure to click on the "Submit and Sign Up" box at the bottom of the page.  You will then advance to the next screen to complete your sign up. 

PLEASE READ IMPORTANT COVID INFO!!!!!

COVID Info - At this time we are mandated by the Illinois Department of Public Health to verify that all staff members and volunteers are up-to-date with COVID vaccinations. To be up-to-date one must have a first booster, if it has been five or more months since receiving their initial round of vaccinations. The second booster is recommended for those 50 and older or immunocompromised, but at this time there is no IDPH requirement for a second booster.   

What this means is that nearly all volunteers will be required to have a booster shot. The only exception would be if a volunteer received their second Pfizer or Moderna vaccination after 4/11/22 (five months before Family Fest). We understand that this will likely impact who is able to volunteer at the Fest, but as this guideline is given to us by the IDPH we must follow it.  We will provide the coordinators of each booth with a form on the day of the Fest and will ask that as volunteers sign in you check their COVID vaccine card and sign them in. 

There are several different opportunities available during the week.  Please mark your calendar of the date(s) you commit to and consider them confirmed.

Lead Contact Person varies based on your volunteer selection.  Please note the Lead Contacts as follows:

Food & Dry Trucks:  Kyle Rhone (if volunteering Tues/Wed/Thurs/or Fri). Report to 1850 W. Thome Avenue.  Questions, please call (773) 973-6300, press 0 for the operator and ask that Kyle be paged. IF volunteering on Saturday, your lead contact is Rob Deptula.

Bakery Helpers:  Freddie in the Bakery and Kali in the Bakery Packaging area.  Freddie and Kali can be reached at (773) 273-4142 or at [email protected]  Report to bakery, via Thome Avenue entrance, 1850 W. Thome Avenue.

Kitchen Help:  Bob or Sammie in the Main Kitchen.  Report to 1850 W. Thome Avenue. Questions, please call (773) 273-4131.

Creations from the Heart: On Pricing Night please report to 1850 W. Thome Avenue.  Saturday Creations from the Heart volunteers can all report to Creations from the Heart tent located on the Fest Grounds at Misericordia.

Table and Chair Set Up:  Bill Rooney.  Report to Fest grounds, Main Entertainment tent.

Candy Sorter & Bagger:  Report to the Hogan Room located in the main building (1850 W. Thome Avenue).  

Lemonade Booth Set Up: Terri Nilson.  Report to the dock doors near 1850 W. Thome to meet Terri.   

Children's Games Area Set Up:  Please report to Sue Jackson out on the Fest grounds in the Children's Games Area.

Laundry: Report to the McAuley Skilled Nursing building located at 2060 W. Granville, Chicago (it's in the south west corner of the Mis campus).  The receptionist will direct you to the laundry facility.  773-273-4744
