Tuckahoe Volunteer Rescue Squad

Please note that at this time, the Tuckahoe Volunteer Rescue Squad is only to accommodate ride along requests for EMT students and prospective members. If you are currently enrolled in an EMT class or you have your EMT certification and are considering applying to Tuckahoe for membership, please feel free to sign up for a ride along.
Ride alongs for the general public will begin once public health conditions are such that everyone's safety can be assured.

IMPORTANT: Observers must be 16 or older, or 15 in the case of an enrolled EMT student. Any observer under the age of 18 must also have a parent/ guardian signature on an Observer Waiver. If you're are under 18, please email [email protected] for a PDF copy of the waiver.
Please understand that by "Registering" for a shift, it does not necessarily guarantee it is confirmed! The email fron SignUpGenius stating you've registered is not a confirmation!! Please keep an eye out for a confirmation email from Tuckahoe.
Our day shift starts at 6:00am and ends at 6:00pm, and our night shift starts at 6:00pm and ends at 6:00am. Please arrive 5-15 minutes before the shift begins. You will need to wear closed-toe shoes and we will provide you with coveralls to wear over your street clothes.
During your shift please feel free to ask any questions of our volunteers after calls. Our patients deserve our undivided attention and our crews strive to provide it to them. Please follow the crews directions at all times as this helps us to provide a high quality of care, as well as ensure your safety on calls. If you are approached or asked a question please explain that you are completing a ride-along and direct the person to the crew member identified as your squad leader.

Again, PLEASE be sure to fill out the observer waiver form that you will receive in your email confirmation prior to arriving at the station for your scheduled shift.
