Thank you for volunteering for Rolling Drop-Off!
The Rolling Drop-Off Plan was designed by BAM staff and parents — together with the City of Berkeley, and Safe Routes to School — to help make mornings at BAM safer for our community. Parent volunteers (and supervised kids) help manage the traffic flow and open car doors for students, so drivers can remain behind the wheel.
Rolling Drop-Off Volunteer Instructions:
8:50 Arrive, gather supplies, put on a Safety Vest. Cones and Safety Vests are just inside the auditorium door (The one that’s open each morning at 7 AM). They are just inside the door clearly visible in front and slightly to the left at the base of the stairs up to Tito‘s office/the backstage area.
8:55 Place cones down the edge of the drop-off area. Wave Cars to the Front of the Line. Open Doors for Students and say “Good Morning!” Help students with backpacks or insturments, if needed.
9:10 Return cones and vests to the storage bin: just walk through the yard prior to the gate being locked to return the supplies and then exit from the cafeteria (this door is locked at 9am). Thank you and have a great day!
Rainy Day policy is the same as above. Have students enter the gate and proceed into the building from the yard.
Thursdays are more congested due to the garbage pick-up along Lincoln St. Extra volunteers are always welcome.
Kindergardeners may be dropped off, if so, please escort them to the K-yard (enter big yard, go through school to K-yard).
