Volunteer Requirements - Volunteers must enjoy working with people and serving others! The minimum age is 18 and up or 13 and up with a guardian/parent. Must be willing to perform numerous sorts of tasks at short notice. All volunteers must attend orientation and/or training sessions. Volunteer roles may require the ability to walk and stand for long periods of time, working outside (rain or shine) and/or inside.
Time Commitment: Volunteers must work a minimum of two hours shifts unless otherwise noted; All Volunteers must check in an hour before shifts begin and stay for the duration of the shift. In case of rain, the festival still goes on.
Benefits - Thank you for helping to celebrate a pivotal moment in American history. As our thank you for your participation all volunteers who work 6 or more hours will receive a free t-shirt. T-shirts will be available for purchase at a discount. All volunteers receive an official Juneteenth badge. Forms will be completed for those performing community service hours!
Covid-19 Guidelines - All volunteers must adhere to the Covid-19 guidelines and restrictions as outlined by Innovation Quarter in addition to guidelines set by NC Government, Forsyth County and City of Winston-Salem. By volunteering, you certify that you do not fall into any of the following categories and if so will withdraw your volunteer signup prior to the event:
1. Individuals who currently or within the past fourteen (14) days have experienced any symptoms associated with COVID-19, which include fever, cough, and shortness of breath among others;
2. Individuals who have traveled at any point in the past fourteen (14) days either internationally or to a community in the U.S. that has experienced or is experiencing sustained community spread of COVID-19; or
3. Individuals who believe that they may have been exposed to a confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19 or have been diagnosed with COVID-19 and are not yet cleared as non-contagious by state or local public health authorities or the health care team responsible for their treatment.
