OHC COVID19 Relief
OHC will continue to bless our community in partnership with the San Antonio Food Bank and the Farmers to Families Food Box program.
We need volunteers to distribute food boxes to up to 300 - 400 families in the Oak Hills Church and San Antonio community. Can we count on your help during this time of need? We started our distributions on back on June 10, 2020 and we are grateful that this will are able to continue to serve our community.
Volunteers are needed in several areas of service: Pre-Event Set up (parking lot area, cones, signs, etc.); Hospitality, Traffic Team (greeters, welcomers, direct the path of vehicles coming through our church parking lot); Registration Team (verifying info on each vehicle, family info, etc.); Loading Team (loading of food boxes into each vehicle/trunk (must be able to lift up from 20-30 lbs.); and post distribution clean-up/tear down.
Adults, and middle/high school students are welcome to help. Middle school students must be accompanied by a parent/guardian; high school students can volunteer without a parent/guardian present. Both middle & high school students will need to have a parent provide a signed Waiver (to be provided that day of service). We are requesting all volunteers to bring your mask and gloves (we will also have some available). If you want to devote your day serving, please bring your lunch/snacks, although OHC will provide lunch, snacks, and water for each volunteer. If you previously served, please wear your "Be The Light," "We are Here to Serve," or other OHC t-shirt; otherise, a t-shirt will be provided to you that day. An OHC Volunteer Waiver will also need to be signed (this will be provided for your review and signature when you arrive to serve).
PRIOR to arriving at OHC on that day to service, you will need to completed a COVID19 Pre-Screen (temperature/questions) online form (link to be provided via email after your registration is received).
This food distribution effort is provided through our US government and the USDA who is partnering with farmers, ranchers, specialty crop producers, food processors and distributors, and non-profit organizations to ensure that all Americans have access to the fresh and wholesome food they need during the COVID-19 national emergency. We are also partnering locally with the San Antonio Food Bank relying on their experience and knowledge.
Thank you for serving and being the hands and of Christ during this time.
