Uplands PEAK Sanctuary Volunteers
Welcome to the Uplands PEAK Volunteer Shift SIGN UP!
Our Board of Directors has unanimously voted to safely re-open PEAK to Volunteers! Our staff of 4 really needs your support now more than ever! This fall has been busy with lots of trips to the Vet for several residents, lots of feed pickups, daily medical care for residents, sanctuary maintenance, and more. We are so excited to welcome new Volunteers to PEAK, and we'd like you to join us! Please take a look at our values:
Compassion
We are guided by the principle that all sentient beings have a natural and unalienable right to a life free from cruelty, abuse or neglect. PEAK strives to show compassion to all our visitors, guests and animal residents regardless of situation or background, with a hope this will foster connection and acceptance to a vegan lifestyle.
Refuge
We maintain that Uplands PEAK Sanctuary be a place of healing, peace, and connection for all beings. We value the communion humans have with animals and with Earth, and foster that relationship.
Veganism
We value a vegan lifestyle as a sacred commitment, and proclaim that all food and drinks on the premises of the Sanctuary be vegan, without exception. We recognize the suffering of farm animals and hereby reaffirm our mission of educating the community to the benefits of a vegan lifestyle and resolve that a vegan lifestyle is the only way to end the suffering of farmed animals permanently.
Stewardship
We value our Mother Earth, and make this commitment to practice diligent stewardship of our land, commit to using eco-friendly products, to build with sustainable energy and supplies as they are available and we are able.
***NEW VOLUNTEERS:***
You will attend an Orientation Shift at PEAK to get you started with us! At this time, we are prioritizng tasks like daily poop patrol, managing residents' bedding, and maintaining feeding/water bowls to our volunteers. We also occasionally need support for feed pickup in Cloverdale or Vet appointment transportation (often in Indy). If you this interests you, contact us at: [email protected], and we will add you to our contact list!
VOLUNTEER SHIFTS:
We ask our Volunteers to consider coming weekly (Most Helpful) or commit to a minimum of 2 shifts per month.
THANK YOU to our Volunteers who continued to stay connected with us in 2020. YOU ARE APPRECIATED! For our new Volunteers, we look forward to warmly welcoming you! There is a fantastic community of residents (like William in the photo here) and humans at PEAK, and we can't wait to greet 2021 with you! There are so many ways to help us grow, and YOU can be a part of it! <3
SAFETY FIRST:
As we continue to navigate COVID 19, we ask that you closely review the Volunteer Waiver that will be emailed to you via email when you sign up. It reviews out safety guidelines to keep you, our residents, and staff happy and healthy. Thank you for reviewing and signing BEFORE your Orientation.
