Media Presbyterian Church is Closing
for In-Person Worship
Dear MPC Members and Friends,
Per today's announcement from Governor Wolf about new Covid-19 mitigation efforts in Pennsylvania, Media Presbyterian Church is closed to In-Person Worship until January 4, 2021. While churches are legally excluded from the new orders, we are bound by love to care for the health of our neighbors and community. We also owe a debt of care to the staff and volunteers who must be present to make worship possible each week.
We will continue to Live Stream Worship on Sunday mornings and on Christmas Eve. You may find those streams by searching for Media Presbyterian Church on YouTube.
We have not made this decision lightly or quickly. MPC Staff, Session, Medical Task Force, and the Reopening Task Force have been working hard to balance the physical, emotional, and spiritual health needs of our community. We have been monitoring available data and actively discussing the best course of action over the last 14 days. It is out of a desire to LOVE our neighbors that we choose not to gather. We will not fear, rather we will be still (read: stay home) and know that God is God.
The MPC Covid-19 Response Plan available on the Resources Tab of the MPC Website is thorough, thoughtful, and faithful. The measures that have been put in place allowing us to gather for worship over the last two months make us one of the safest public places. It is my desire to reopen the church to in-person worship as soon as the new limited-time Pennsylvania mitigation efforts conclude.
Warmly in Christ, Pastor Jonathan
