EDGE Teen Center- Community Service
Thanks for wanting to volunteer with us at Hamilton Urban Gardens (HUGS). Here is a little information about their mission. Hamilton Urban Gardens' mission is to design, create, implement and sustain a year round Local Food System in the Greater Hamilton, OH Metropolitan Area. Including: growing, processing, and distributing organic locally grown food; and educating the citizens of Butler County on the health benefits of a sustainable Local Food System.
Here are some simple steps to begin your Community Service with HUGS:
IMPORTANT: If you have signed up for a service day at HUGS and for whatever reason are unable to attend, remove yourself from the sign up for that day so others may serve in your place!
- Please fill out the EDGE Teen Center Community Service Forms (you may have already received these documents in our information packet, we need these in case of an emergency while doing your community service). https://edgeteencenter.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/2019-EDGE-Comm-Serv-Registration-Form.pdf . If you are volunteering for the first time in this program, please bring the form.
- DRESS CODE: You will be working in gardens, please wear clothes you are not afraid to get dirty. No inappropriate wording on clothing. Closed-toe shoes are required for working in the gardens.
- Arrive at EDGE by 3:00 pm to check in and load into the van. If you plan on driving yourself, please let me know by emailing [email protected] and plan on meeting us in front of HUGS at 3:30 pm.
- Please share this volunteering opportunity with any of your friends. Any teen ages 14-18 may volunteer.
Please email [email protected] for any questions/concerns.
