Hello to our wonderful community!
This year has been very difficult and we would like to help relieve some of the stress. Maywood, Briarwood and Apollo are partnering up to help families in our community this Thanksgiving. If you know of a family that would benefit please have them contact the counselor at their school NO LATER THAN NOVEMBER 19th (to stay confidential) Mrs. Nelson,Maywood [email protected]) or they may contact the PTSA directly [email protected]
We are asking for baskets of traditional Thanksgiving food items that the families can prepare themselves (turkey, stuffing, mashed potato (can be fresh or bagged), cranberry, rolls, etc) to be donated. An aluminum roasting pan would be a great way to hold these items! We will also have signups for pie and sparkling cider (no alcohol please). Drop off for items will be on Monday November 23rd (delivery will be on 11-23 at 330). . Drop off between 3-5pm at 16540 se 149th st Renton 98059 (near Maywood Middle School). Contactless drop off is available by just placing your items in the trunk of your vehicle. When you drive up Pop the trunk and we'll go ahead and grab it for you.
We also know that this is a crazy time of year and Thanksgiving dinner can great pricey so some suggestions are to pair up with another family, work colleagues/Team, encourage your Girl/Boy Scout Troop, Clubs, or sports team to chip in to make a basket to help a family.
Passage Point is a complex that helps reunite families post Incarceration Roughly half the families that are living there attend Apollo, Briarwood, Maple Hills, Maywood and Liberty. There are families there that are in other schools as well (full disclosure- 22 students from 20 families are Issaquah students) we would love to help those families as well.
Thank you for your contribution-
Please sign up by Friday November 19 so we can see what is still needed prior to the delivery date. Thank you
