Woodworking Wednesdays (and occasional Saturdays) are a series of builds to build up our inventory for Winter to Spring deliveries. These are funded by our grants and donations, so they are open to the general public. Please NOTE for safety reasons, children must be 12 years and older to sign up and participate in a bed build. Stop in and see what we are all about or sign up to join the fun! We hope to knock out 20-25 beds a night. Specific jobs will be assigned when people arrive and likely you will get to do several jobs throughout the evening.
As Covid conditions change, we may change the number of people allowed at builds or may cancel a build altogether. We are doing our best to ensure the safety of our volunteers while also trying to build beds for kids in CNY. Thanks for your flexibility and understanding.
For the health and safety of everyone involved, we are following Covid protocols so please adhere to the following:
1) Please bring and wear a mask throughout the build.
2) If you have been exposed to anyone with Covid 19, please do not attend the build.
3) If you are experiencing any Covid 19 symptoms, please do not attend the build.
Thanks for helping out!
Please fill out the following Volunteer Indemnity Form prior to arrival. Please be careful to select the correct day as the displayed calendar runs Monday through Sunday. Every adult must fill out their own form individually.
if you are under 18, your parent or guardian must fill out the form with their name and put the appropriate number of volunteers on the form (you, any other children attending, plus the adult if they are attending). Adults leading student volunteer groups cannot fill out the form for anyone but their own children.
Upon arrival, we will check you in and and have you run through a health checklist, similar to when you enter a doctors office just to ensure everyone is healthy.
**If you can't make it for the entire time, you are free to arrive or depart when you need to. Please note that in the comments section when you sign up so we know how many to expect and when.
