St. Alban's Episcopal Church
St. Alban's has many opportunities for volunteers to serve during our worship services. We welcome you to sign up. Please reach out to Jessica with any questions, or to learn more about serving at St. Alban's. Below you will find a brief description of a few of the service opportunities.
- Acolytes: Those in 5th grade and up are invited to serve in worship as torch-bearers, crucifers, and in other liturgical ways. Acolyte ministry is a special and meaningful part of our worship tradition. We welcome adults and children to sign up as Crucifer for our 8:00 a.m. service. Our Acolytes at the 10:30 a.m. service are scheduled by the leader, Dave Pylipow. Our youth Acolyte team always welcomes new members. For information on training and scheduling, email Dave.
- Lectors: Lectors read the Old Testament and Epistle scripture lessons appointed for the day, and sometimes lead the congregation in reciting the Psalm and the Prayers of the People. The readings are emailed to our Lectors in advance to give them a chance to prepare.
- Ushers: Ushers welcome worshipers with bulletins, answer questions, help guide people during our worship services, and take up the offering. Serving alongside our experienced Ushers is a great way to learn the ropes if you have not served in this capacity before.
