It's the Second Annual TCGIS Community Garden!
The TCGIS Community Garden is a 14.5’ by 17.5’plot at the District 10 Como Community Garden, located on the frontage road along the east side of Snelling, north of Como Ave, between Almond and Albany Avenues.
We're looking for families to water, pull weeds, donate produce to the local food shelf, and generally tend the garden over the summer and into early fall. It's a great way to get outside for both experienced gardeners and novices alike!
Planted in 2021: Cucumbers, peas, chamomile, basil, kohlrabi, summer squash, winter squash, tomatoes, strawberries, peppers, eggplant, hyssop, and flowers.
Details: Slots are set up for three families per week to tend the garden. Garden together, or divide and conquer, whichever works best in your schedules.
NEW in 2021: One slot each week is reserved for incoming Kindergarten and 1st grade families so they can get to know others in the TCGIS community.
Set your own schedules and have fun in the garden. Time commitment is minimal, and no experience necessary! More details will be sent to those who sign up.
