2019-2020 NVHS Chorus Family Volunteers
Help Choir Kids have a great performance!
It is time for the Crystal Concert! This year, the Crystal Concert performances are scheduled for December 5th and 6th, 2019 at 6:00 PM and 8:15 PM. The Choral Department needs many parent volunteers to help present our annual Crystal Concert! Needs include decorating, behind-the-scene student homeroom monitors, ushering, CD sales, etc. Parents are asked to volunteer for at least one shift at some point during the Crystal Concert performances.
PLEASE NOTE: Volunteering parents are by no means giving up their opportunity to attend the concerts! For room monitors, please know that you are welcome to work in your child's room or another. Past parent volunteers have recommended to volunteer for the same night you plan to attend as an audience member, for example, if you are attending the 6:00 PM concert, you volunteer during the 8:15 PM concert or vice versa.
CONCERT NIGHTS!!! Please stop by the Volunteer Check-In table when you arrive at Crystal Concert for your responsibilities. The table will be located in the “A-wing” hallway (just outside the lobby area). If you have any problems in your room or someone doesn't show up to replace you, please contact the concert coordinators - the coordinators and their cell numbers will be identified for each concert. THANK YOU!!!
Here is a description of the positions we need to fill:
DECORATIONS: Volunteers will help decorate the lobby and auditorium for the concerts and then, help take down and put them away. Volunteers should check-in at the main entrance and sign-in to report to the auditorium. Moms, Dads, and other family members are certainly welcome!
CD SALES: Volunteers will assist guests in purchasing Crystal Concert CD recording pre-orders before and after the concert. You will want to attend and enjoy a different concert than the one you in which you volunteer since it can get quite busy.
BOX OFFICE/TICKETS: Volunteers will assist guests with ticket purchases or exchanges before the concert. You will want to attend and enjoy a different concert than the one you in which you volunteer since it can get quite busy.
USHERS: Volunteers will assist patrons in the auditorium before, during, and after the concert.
CLASSROOM MONITORS: Volunteers will monitor students in their assigned classrooms when they are not performing. We need at least one (1) parent stationed in each classroom at all times. Directors will escort them in the hallways for their performances. This includes covering during Wednesday evening's rehearsal. You will want to attend and enjoy a different concert than the one you in which you volunteer.
SNACK DONATIONS: Volunteers will purchase and drop-off pretzel donations for the performing students. We are looking for the snacks to be dropped off on 12/02. Please look for packages that are nut-free and, preferably, avoid being manufactured in the same facility as nuts. Please drop them off to David Fox, 4807 Fesseneva Ln, 60564 in the Harmony Grove subdivision.
Decorating needs to be completed before the Thanksgiving break on Friday, November 21st. We also need support with parent oversight during the Wednesday night rehearsals, support during the concerts themselves, and tear-down (very quick) on Monday, December 16th. Please open up your calendars and hearts to make these concerts a success. Let's show our students that we support them and appreciate their hard work.
