Charlotte Wood community
As the year comes to an end, we are happy to finally be celebrating our 8th graders! PTA is organizing an 8th grade celebration on May 24th on the blacktop and a simultaneous virtual event as well. Students who wish to celebrate in-person will be split into two time slots, Session A and Session B. Each time slot will have 6 groups of 25 students maximum, organized by color. The 6 color groups will rotate through 6 activities and score points at each station. The color group with the most points at the end of their time slot will be declared the winning team. The prize will be announced at the event. Parent volunteers will be leading the color groups through the activities. (Note: You may sign up your student in the group you wish to lead.)
**Students and parent volunteers are to wear masks at all times. Hand sanitizer and wipes will be provided and equipment will be wiped clean in between groups.**
General Set up 10:00 - 12:00 pm
Session A attends from 12-1pm - Arrive 15 minutes early to check in with your group.
1-1:30pm - Reset and sanitizing before next group arrives.
Session B attends from 1:45-2:45pm
We will need two people to take pictures as students move through the activities, volunteers around the blacktop perimeter, a couple of volunteers in the quad as students use the restroom, and a few parents to help with each activity and sanitizing in between groups.
We are also organizing a virtual event that will run simultaneous to the in-person event for those students interested.
Please consider volunteering to help make this event memorable and fun for all of our 8th graders!
Since this is an on-campus activity, during the school day, all volunteers need to be cleared. Verify your clearance is up-to-date on Be A Mentor. If not, email Debbie Gilfillan, [email protected], in the school office and she will set you up with Be a Mentor access.
