e-RE Volunteers March-May

Thank you for your commitment to RE this year as we navigate our first virtual year!  All e-RE meetings will be held on Zoom.  Minimal knowledge of this application is needed to volunteer.  Our DRE or a RE Team member will be present each Sunday to ensure a smooth transition into Break-Out Rooms and offer any tech support needed.  The Zoom link for e-RE is available through our website, e-letter, and volunteer emails sent the week of your designated volunteer day.

Our curriculum this year is led by Soul Matters (elementary class) and Crossing Paths (middle school).

Below is a description of volunteer slots that you will see listed in the dates below.

Soul Matters Room (1st-4th grade)

Soul Matters Lead - Being a lead teacher in our younger kids' room, you will guide the children through our Soul Matters lesson, a monthly theme-based curriculum.  Your lesson plan will be emailed to you on the Tuesday before your volunteer date to review and make yourself familiar with the content.  As the lead teacher, you will share any content needed for class via screen share.

Soul Matters Assistant - As an assistant in our elementary room, you will be responsible for helping the lead teacher with the Soul Matters lesson plan.  You will also oversee monitoring the chat, helping the lead teacher see any raised hands, and offer support and input.  As assistant, you are also responsible to make sure the class covenant is followed and address any behavior that strays from that covenant. The lesson plan will also be emailed to you on Tuesday to familiarize yourself with the content before e-RE.

Crossing Paths Room (5th-7th grade)

Crossing Paths Lead - As a lead teacher for our middle school room, you will be leading the children through their monthly religion.  As a lead for this room, it is suggested you familiarize yourself with the religion you will be discussing that Sunday.  Links will be provided for some research.  The lesson plan for your assigned day will be emailed the Tuesday before your volunteer day. In class, you will share any content needed via screen share.

Crossing Paths Assistant - To assist in this room, you will have several responsibilities including monitoring the chat, helping the leader with discussion and input, and making sure all participants are heard and seen.  As assistant, you are also responsible to make sure the class covenant is followed and address any behavior that strays from that covenant. The lesson plan for that week will be emailed the prior Tuesday.  It is suggested that you familiarize yourself with the religion being discussed that month.  Links for research will be provided in the email.  

FUUN Day (1st-7th grade)

FUUN Day Lead - This day is all about the fun!  As a lead, you will be in charge of leading any games or activities planned for this day.  

FUUN Day Assistant - This may be the best gig yet!  To assist on FUUN Day, you get to participate in the games and activities with the kids!
