I have 2 things for you all here:
1) Center for Performing Arts (CFPA), our host for the auditions, requires all individuals coming into their building for auditions to sign a liability waiver. This must be completed and signed before you audition.
2) An audition form!
You can find both of these forms in PDF and Word formats at the following link: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1WAZu4oI7A_buRfhWSX8wynbnVUh1yPcg?usp=sharing
You can choose to fill these out in advance and email them back to me at firstname.lastname@example.org so we can save on paper (preferable), print them out yourself and bring them in, or fill them out when you arrive.
If you choose to email them, you may also email me your Headshot and resume.
A final note: All audition slots are currently full. If you don't think you're going to make it, please cancel your scheduled time on SignUp Genius so that others may have a chance to fill the spot. There was also a great article on Minnesota Playlist about some nasty occurrences of fraudulent sign-ups (read it here: https://minnesotaplaylist.com/magazine/article/2019/i-didnt-sign-up-for-this). So we're aware of that as well.
TheatreX will hold auditions for 'Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Christmas Carol' by John Longenbaugh, and directed by Joe Hendren Saturday June 22, 1-3:30pm and Sunday June 23. 2:15-5pm
Auditions will be held at the Center for Performing Arts, 3754 Pleasant Ave S. in Minneapolis.
Actors who have worked with director Joe Hendren previously and who wish to be considered for the show are invited to email him at email@example.com with a letter of interest rather than signing up for an audition time.
Callbacks will be held Thursday, June 27.
SHERLOCK HOLMES AND THE CASE OF THE CHRISTMAS CAROL by John Longenbaugh takes its inspiration from the classic works by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Charles Dickens. The story finds Holmes in a very Scrooge-like state, shut off from the outside world and at risk of losing his very humanity, three years following the death of his nemesis Professor Moriarty. While Watson's efforts to draw him out have proved unsuccessful, a visit from the spirit of Moriarty warns of Holmes' damnation and heralds the coming of three more spirits who are charged with his salvation. A very clever reimagining of Victorian classics.
This is very much an ensemble show and we are looking for flexible actors who can play multiple roles. We will be casting 3 women and 2 men. Each of these performers will play 4-5 roles each, including Moriarty, Mrs. Hudson, Wiggins, Mycroft, Lestrade and many others. The roles of Sherlock Holmes and John Watson have been cast, although 2 of the performers will play younger and older versions of Holmes. Actors age 18 and up are welcome to audition. We are committed to a socially conscious and equitable casting process. You are invited to bring your whole self.
REHEARSALS are expected to begin mid-late October. Rehearsals will generally be Sunday-Thursday evenings.
PERFORMANCES will be held at the James J. Hill House in St. Paul, December 6, 7, 14, 15, 19 and 20th at 7:30pm. Additional performances may be added.
PLEASE PREPARE a contemporary 1-2 minute monologue, bring a headshot, resume, and a list of any and all conflicts for October, November, and December.
Actors will be paid a stipend for the rehearsal period and a per/performance stipend.
Questions may be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
