Georgetown Baptist Church Family Promise
HELLO, what feels like my long lost volunteers! How I greatly miss serving with you all! I am proud to tell you that we will be serving families in our facilities on October 11-25th. I want to reassure you that while we will be fellowshipping and hosting our guest face-to-face, if you are in any way uncomfortable with this or if you are a high risk person, please do not feel pressured to volunteer this time. Your safety and comfort matter to us!
We will be following some special social distancing and safety protocals in order to keep our guest and volunteers safe during this time. We ask that you please use the highest level of care, including, but not limited to proper hand washing, surface sanitation and distancing, to ensure we are being as safe as possible when preparing food, interacting with our guest and sleeping overnight. Masks are not required for participation, but are recommended if you fall into the food prep category or simply wish to to wear one.
We are asking that all food be dropped off in the kitchen before the guest arrive at 6 pm (food can be prepared at home or an outside source), the evening hosts will be limited to 2 people a night to protect our guest and volunteers from being over exposed, and overnight host are going to be asked to strip their bedding, put it in and start the wash and sanitize their sleeping areas before leaving in the mornings ( this means you might have to make your beds at night/ Feel free to bring your own twin size bedding if you wish)
****Meal crew please NO fish, one of our guest has an allergy, please prepare for 6-8 people****
We ask that if you are experiencing any of the following symptoms or have been exposed to someone positive for Covid-19 that you please do NOT come to your assigned time slot and contact me (580-380-1331) as soon as possible so that we can fill your spot, please!
- Fever or chills
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Muscle or body aches
- New loss of taste or smell
- Sore throat
- Congestion or runny nose
- Nausea or vomiting
Please keep an eye out here for any updates or changes in that.
Thank You again for all your time, talents and skills that you are sharing with the families experiencing homelessness.
"Feed the hungry, and help those in trouble. Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon.”
Family Promise has several moving parts, so please be flexible and open-minded to change, there are some transitions that happen on occasion. We may get new families or they might even graduate out to permanent housing. Please just be flexible, I will give you as much notice as I have and know that God has this.
