Free Speech Open Mic
All Ages Audio-Visual Open Mic
Hosted by Belmont Media Center
All afternoon from 12pm to 4pm on Saturday, March 9th play your songs, show your video, read your poetry, perform stand-up comedy, or just speak your mind at the Free Speech Audiovisual Open Mic Series here at Belmont Media Center's Studio A. We encourage original material but cover songs and/or derivative material is fine too.
Our 3-camera HD TV studio will capture every performer. We have a piano, plenty of mics, stage monitors with an in-house PA, and an LCD projector for videos or images.
The entire afternoon will be cablecast LIVE locally & on the Web. Performances will be archived on our YouTube page.
THE FOUR GOLDEN RULES
1. The length of your performance time depends on how many people confirm before the open mic. Each slot will be at least 15 minutes. Those screening videos longer than that minutes must email us before the event.
2. If you want to screen a video or film or project images for your slot or during your performance we recommend an H.264 1920 x 1080 file. We will create a Send us a link or upload to our Dropbox Folder > HERE (you don't need a Dropbox account)
3. When you sign up for a time slot, PLEASE add in the COMMENTS section the instruments and equipment you will be using if you're a musician. Otherwise, please tell us a little about your performance (music, essay, poetry, etc) so that we can be ready. PLEASE INCLUDE your social media info and/or whatever promotional info you might want onscreen. Also...if you have specific requests about the production of your performance on video, don't hesitate to ask how we can help.
4. Belmont Media Center is open to all, so please be respectful of others. No abusive or threatening behavior will be tolerated.
