75th Anniversary Gala

Volunteers help make our events a success! The 75th Anniversary Gala is an engaging SYSO community event, celebrating our students, alumni, and musical accomplishments of the past 75 years. Together, we raise money for student scholarships.

Volunteers are needed before the event to help with a variety of planning activities and for roles on the event day. Most tasks prior to the event can be completed from your home or during select days at the SYSO office. The 75th Anniversary Gala will take place on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at the Hyatt Olive8 in downtown Seattle.

Decor and Theme (2)

Assist in the look and atmosphere of the event while adhering to the theme. Duties include helping identify and/or create centerpieces, auction table displays, and miscellaneous decorations aligned with the event theme.

Packaging (6)

Volunteer in-person at the SYSO office in March and April 2019 to assist with labeling auction items, grouping items, sorting gift certificates, etc. Arrange and stuff attendee packets including name tags, menus, catalogs, etc.

Day Before Drivers (6)

Expected Shift: Friday, May 3 Day or Evening | Drivers to transport decorations and supplies within the Seattle/Eastside area. Exact details pending. Must provide own car.

 

Day-Of Decoration Drivers (4)

Expected Shift: Saturday, May 4 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. | Drivers to transport decorations and supplies to the Hyatt at Olive 8. Must provide own car.

 

Day-Of Event Stylists (4)

Expected Shift: Saturday, May 4 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. | Event Stylists needed to help with centerpiece and decoration set-up. No experience necessary, we'll show you how to arrange.

Expected Shift: Saturday, May 4 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. | Drivers needed during this time frame (do not need to commit to the full hours) to transport donated desserts from the Seattle/Eastside area to Hyatt at Olive 8. Must provide own car.

 

Day-Of Set-Up (6)

Expected Shift: Saturday, May 4 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. | Volunteers needed for room set-up focusing on auction items and remaining decor.

Expected Shift: Saturday, May 4 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. | needed to process attendee registration, provide materials to registration officials, hand-out welcome materials, etc. Especially looking for computer savvy volunteers.

Day-Of Greeters (4)

Expected Shift: Saturday, May 4 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. | Greeters needed to welcome guests, direct to receptions, and answer basic event questions.

 

Day-Of Raffle Sellers (6)

Expected Shift: Saturday, May 4 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. | Raffle Sellers to approach guests and offer the chance to participate in the Golden Raffle and the Prize Raffle.

 

Day-Of Auction Assistants (6)

Expected Shift: Saturday, May 4 7:00 - 10:00 p.m. | Auction Assistants to help with various record-keeping tasks during the live auction and paddle raise.

 

Day-Of Take Down Crew (6)

Expected Shift: Saturday, May 4 9:30 - 12:00 midnight | Volunteers needed after the event to help collect materials and assist with light clean-up. We will get you out as early as possible!
