Our priests help to nourish our souls, let's help to nourish their bellies!
After speaking with Fr. DeGrood, I thought it would be nice if we as a parish could offer our priests meals. Upon discussion, we have decided to have a family in the SJB parish provide a meal for our priests once a week- every Tuesday. It is preferred to be pre-cooked, so they would just have to heat it up. Disposable containers are suggested, so they do not have to clean and make sure people get their cookware back. Condiments like salad dressings do not need to be provided. No dietary restrictions or preferences. I am assured they'll eat most anything. :)
Delivery time at the rectory would be between 5:15pm and 5:30pm. If it is more convenient for you, you can drop it off at the office with the parish secretary earlier in the day, between 8:00-4:30. If it is brought early, she can notify the priests that it will be in the fridge. Otherwise, the priests will anticipate the meal brought to the rectory at the 5:15-5:30 time. Please, call or text me if you are unable to bring a meal on the date you signed up for. Thank you!
Restaurant gift cards could also be donated. That way, if a parishioner who signed up is unable to fulfill that commitment, due to illness or something, there is a back up plan for them.
Thank you in advance for your willingness to provide a meal for our priests!
