Historic New Castle, Delaware has an annual celebratation of independence from Pennsylvania and the British Crown which is called Separation Day. 2020 will be the 244th year!
The dates are Friday, June 12 and Saturday, June 13. On Friday night, the streets are closed on Delaware Avenue around the courthouse for a live concert with food trucks plus a beer/wine stand. Saturday is a full day of activities kicking off with a parade, followed by a day of activities in Battery Park including an officially sanctioned "Kansas City Barbeque Society" BBQ competion, food trucks, vendors, live music all day leading into fireworks at 9 pm.
