Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN)
The Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) helps families who are seeking permanent housing by giving them shelter and three meals a day, through the hospitality of different churches and synagogues.
With the support of Park United Methodist’s Church, Mission House volunteers from St. Cassian Church will be hosting guest families during the week of February 17 through February 24. Please note that this year, we will not be using the school gym during this host week, but families will be staying in a Mission House in Bloomfield. As in past years, St. Cassian volunteers will continue to shop for necessary items, prepare meals, volunteer during the day, sleep overnight, and wash the linens at the end of the week. The parish community has worked together for many years to make this outreach a success. If you are interested in volunteering during (or to help prepare for) our host week, please sign up using the links below.
After our guest families leave, one of our last volunteer opportunities will be to launder the linens (towels, sheets, pillow cases, comforters) so that they can be used again next year. Please note that the laundry will include large comforters, so if your machine at home is not able to to take a big load, you may want to consider a laundromat which will also allow you to wash multiple loads at a time.
Volunteers should be available to pick up the linens in the school gym between 11:30am and 12:00pm.
