Greensboro Pride Volunteers
By signing up, you agree to the following:
You will be considered a representative of Greensboro Pride during the day of the festival. You will not engage in lewd or unlawful behavior while volunteering with Greensboro Pride. You will not engage with protestors. You will be helpful and friendly to both patrons and vendors during the day of the festival. *All volunteers will receive a volunteer t-shirt upon arrival for their shift(s).*
Shift Responsibilities
For all shifts:
- Arrive 30 minutes prior to your assigned shift
- Work your full shift in its entirety
- Alert the Volunteer Coordinator(s) if you are unable to meet your shift requirements
- Unless otherwise stated below, meet the Volunteer Coordinator(s) at the Greensboro Pride Festival Booth
- You will receive an email 1 week prior to the day(s) of your shift. In the email, you will be given a team captain and the color of your team. This will help you know who you are to report to and where you are to be during your shift.
Shift 9/17/2022 “Festival Eve Set-up” (8:30pm-10pm)
- Meet the Volunteer Coordinators at 8:15pm in the Biltmore Hotel in Downtown Greensboro in the lobby area.

- Help post the No Parking flyers along the footprint of the festival
- Help set up bike racks and other barricades for the footprint of the festival
Shift 9/18/2022 “Measuring Vendor Spaces and Set-up” (6:30am-9am)
- Help set up tents and other decorations
- Help measure the vendor spaces
- Help label each vendor space
- Help with odds and ends to prepare for vendor arrivals
Shift 9/18/2022 “Vendor and Stage Setup” (9am-11am)
- In your groups of volunteers, you will meet each vendor in your designated set-up area and help them unload their materials. The goal is to get them unloaded and their vehicles out of the footprint as quickly as possible.
- Help each vendor in your designated area set-up their space until they no longer need your assistance.
- Help prepare and decorate each stage as needed
Shift 9/18/2022 “Festival Management” (11am-1pm, 1pm-3pm, 3pm-5pm)
- Check on vendors to make sure their needs are being met
- Walk the footprint of the festival to monitor patrons and protestors
- Help monitor the KidZone and bouncy houses
- If you are charged with the duty of protecting the protestors, keep your back to the protestors and deter patrons from engaging with them.
- These shifts are slower
- You may be asked to run ice or water to vendors
Shift 9/18/2022 “Vendor Breakdown and Cleanup” (5pm-7pm)
Until 6pm:
- Check on vendors to make sure their needs are being met
- Walk the footprint of the festival to monitor patrons and protestors
- If you are charged with the duty of protecting the protestors, keep your back to the protestors and deter patrons from engaging with them
At 6pm:
- Help vendors in your designated areas break down and load as quickly as possible.
