Happily Ever After - Parent Volunteer Opportunities

Parent Volunteer Requirements

Barnwell Theatre productions rely on parent support. We MUST have your support in order for our show to be a success! Failure to reply may result in your child being taken out of the show. We understand that we all have other commitments so we have made sure that there are volunteer opportunities for every timeframe and skill set. Please select the areas where you would like to contribute. Thank you in advance!

Available Slot

Costume Committee (4)

Collect or create costumes (if necessary) and keep organized. Return any borrowed costumes after performances. You will need to attend a few rehearsals and be familiar with script/show. May need to work 1 of the 2 show dates.

 

Props Committee (4)

Buy/borrow/collect props; organize and label; work with cast & backstage crew to ensure props are ready for performance; return props after show. You will need to attend a few rehearsals and be familiar with script/show. May need to work one of the shows.

Costume Committee - Minor Alterations

Can complete minor alterations or sewing as needed.

 

Hair/Makeup (6)

Must be available for all dress rehearsals and performances. This will not interfere with you seeing the show :)

 

Set Construction (2)

Assist director with building scenery piece. Little experience needed.

 

Set Painting (2)

Assist director with painting set pieces. Little experience needed.

 

Food Organizer (2)

Responsible for planning, ordering, picking up, and distributing dinner before dress rehearsal & both performances.

 

Publicity Team (2)

Send information to BearGram as needed, distribute information to room parents and teachers as needed. Contact local newspaper and submit info/photo for our show.

 

Tickets Sales (4)

Help collect money, distribute tickets, and work box office on performance dates.

Oversee all of ticket and flower sales. Set up on-line sales site (training available) and manage reserved seating assignments.

Responsible for organizing and securing a date, location (usually the Barnwell cafeteria), food, and party supplies to celebrate all our hard work!

Johns Creek Herald Article

Write a post show article for the local paper to feature the Aristocats production. No need to start from scratch as we have articles from the past two years to reference.

 

Play Photographer

Take headshots of cast and photograph dress rehearsals.

Door Ushers - Friday Show (2)

Volunteers remain at the theater doors to ensure they are closed until show time. Once doors are open volunteers will handout Playbills.

Volunteers would remain at the theater doors to ensure they are closed until show time. Once doors are open volunteers will handout Playbills.

 

Programs (2)

Help with program design, collect "Shout-outs" forms and money, and work with printing company.

Pre-show Set Up (4)

Large cars/SUVs needed to transport items and set up props for performance.

Friday (2/7/20)

Backstage (8)

Keep kids quiet, safe and organized backstage during dress rehearsals and performances. Help with props, costumes, microphones, etc. as needed. You will need to attend a few rehearsals and be familiar with script/show. Must work 1 of the 2 show dates.

 

Post-Show Take Down (4)

Take down the set, gather and remove all props, costumes and other items, after last performance. Help clean stage & theater area of trash, leftover items, etc. Large cars/SUVs needed to transport props to school and/or another location after last show.

 

Director's Gift Coordinator

Responsible for planning/creating a thank-you gift for our director given at the end of the last performance.

 

Concession Stand Committee (4)

Responsible for ordering and organizing food to be sold before and after each performance.

 

Sales table for Candy/Flowers (4)

Responsible for organizing pre-orders for flowers and personalized candy bars, to be sold and distributed the night of each performance.

 

Jr. Beta Coordinators (2)

Responsible for contacting our middle/high schools for student volunteers to assist with the show, as needed. Also, need to work with backstage crew & producer schedule shifts and placement of these students for each performance.
