WMA Community Outreach
ST. COLUMBA MONTHLY MEAL SERVICE 2020-2021
WMA's Community Outreach seeks to continue its support of St. Columba -- one of Project Home's "Safe Haven Residences" each month. St. Columba provides shelter and meals to the city's most vulnerable male homeless population. Each month, our Waldron families have traditionally donated a meal and volunteered to serve dinner to the residents.
Due to safety concerns with the COVID-19 Pandemic, in person dinner service has been suspended. However, the St. Columba Community still needs our support in this difficult time. To the extent you may be able to support St. Columba through donating the cost for any part of the dinner for our scheduled evenings (or any other evening!), please consider a sign up below. We hope to resume in person service at some point in 2021.
In the meantime, Jack's Firehouse has graciously partnered with WMA's Community Outreach to allow us to continue our monthly dinner service. Jack's has a catering menu with items consistent with what we normally serve, and the restaurant has agreed to deliver for free.
Through Jack's, each meal (salad, fried chicken, 2 sides, bread and dessert) costs approximately $10.00, and normally we feed 60 residents but we recently learned that the number of residents in this time is closer to 40 to 50. To cover a full service, we have included 50 sign ups.
Additionally, in the spirit of trying to spoil the St. Columba's community in a safely distant way, please feel free to have your kids make card, picture or write a note that we can have delivered to the shelter with our meal. If you send those to Fran Gallagher at WMA in advance of the service, we will be sure to have them delivered by Jack's with our meal.
Please review the available slots below and click on the button to sign up.
Thank you for your generosity or even just your prayers for our beloved St. Columba community during this time.
To make arrangements to pay for your donation for any slot below, you can do so by sending payment via Venmo to the following account: @Tracey-Hagan-1 (last 4 digits 8667 if requested by Venmo for confirmation). Please note the date of service upon payment.
Or, if easier, please feel free to send a check payable to Jack's Firehouse into school to Fran Gallagher with a notation that it is for Project Home/date of service/Tracey Hagan.
Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions or concerns. You can reach Sonia Forcina by cell at 215-783-4668 or by email at [email protected] or Tracey Hagan by cell at 215-901-8667 or by email at [email protected]
Please note that we do plan to continue delivery service until we learn that in person service is permitted.
Thanks,Sonia and Tracey
