About Show Choir:
Rehearsals take place on Sundays from 1:00-6:00 pm & Tuesdays from 7:00-9:30 pm and will be taking place online via Zoom until such time that it is safe to return to in-person rehearsals. The end-of-year show is currently scheduled to take place in-person with Technical/Dress Rehearsals on Mar. 20-21 (afternoon/evening) & Mar. 22-24 (evening), and Performances on Mar. 25-27 (evening) & Mar. 28 (afternoon). However, if Show Choir is unable to perform its end-of-year show in person, we will create edited music videos of all of the performances. More information about Show Choir can be found on our website.

Audition Form & Equity Self-Identification Survey:
Please complete this Audition Form in advance of your audition. Please also use the link to complete the confidential Equity Self-Identification Survey. Your responses will help us to prevent or address systemic barriers to access and opportunity, set and promote equity, diversity and inclusion goals, measure progress and improve the experience for participants in Vanier College Productions.

What to Prepare for your Audition:
We recognize that everyone has different experiences with singing and dancing. MUSIC: Please prepare either: A) 1 minute of a song that best showcases your voice, your vocal range, and makes you excited about singing, or B) the provided 30-second section of "Over the Rainbow” (please see below). Music accompaniment is not required but is accepted (please provide your own device to play it on). Please note we will likely request to hear you sing without accompaniment, so please don’t be alarmed if this occurs. DANCING: Please learn this short dance and be prepared to perform what you've learned as best as you can (it doesn't have to be perfect!). You can use this audio track to practice at home once you're comfortable and don't need the video. Please note: you should start dancing at 0:13 with the lyrics "when the sharpest words...". We will have the audio track available for you to use at your audition.

“Over the Rainbow” Materials (if you choose them):
Below you will find a recording of “Over the Rainbow” for you to use to learn the song and then 3 choices of background tracks for you to use when you perform the song. We have suggested which tracks are best for different voice types, but please pick whichever one feels most comfortable for your voice. Please note that you should start singing right at 5 seconds into the Background Track.
Over the Rainbow Recording (for you to learn from)
Background Track in Bb (same as recording, best for ALTO voice)
Background Track in Db (best for SOPRANO and BASS voices)
Background Track in E (best for TENOR voices)
