Stewards are needed to water the new trees we planted at Freedom Park (at Terry's Corner) on Camano Island in honor of retired SWS Board Members. There are 6 shore pines that are each about 1 foot tall and one larger 4 foot tall Douglas Fir between the Orca Statue and the Rotary Playground.
Each tree needs about 1 gallon of water each time you go, weekly in fall, winter, spring at times when there isn't sufficient rain - and twice/week in summer. Bring your own containers filled with water from home since there is no water in the park.
If you need to refill your water jugs, there is an outdoor spigot at Windermere/Coastal Bank at Terry's Corner located at the NW corner of the building next to the bank drive-through lane. Mike Nestor of Windermere and Freedom Park Association has given permission to take water there.
Please sign up for a whole week of watering which means twice a week in summer.
