Greenbriar Art Adventure: 1st Grade
Art Adventure is a PTO sponsored program that gives parent volunteers the opportunity to teach art and cultural appreciation through classroom lessons and cultural events.
Each school year, every grade will experience one cultural event and three classroom lessons. Absolutely no creativity or art experience is necessary! All classroom lessons and cultural events include scripted lesson plans and materials.
OCT/NOV: FOUR SEASONS
Students will have fun with this introduction to classical music. While listening to Vivaldi's The Four Seasons, students will create their interpretation of spring, summer, fall and winter.
JAN/FEB: KRAZY FOR KANDINSKY
This lesson explores color and emotion through abstract artist, Wassily Kandinsky, and will focus on his most recognizable work, Squares with Concentric Circles.
APR/MAY: FOLK ART: EVERYDAY LANDSCAPES
Focusing on the art of Robin Moline, students will learn about landscape painting and work together to create a mural capturing everyday life in their own homes and communities.
